Sarah has been singing
and playing and writing songs since she was a wee little one
growing up in the woods of Western Pennsylvania. Right after
graduating from college with a classical piano performance degree,
she packed up her VW Bug and headed to Nashville to pursue her
songwriting. After steeping in the alternative country scene
and playing in area songwriter haunts, she headed back north
and landed in New York City. Here is where Sarah found her musical
home. Riding on the energy and collaborative spirit of the city
she soon put together a band and recorded her first CD, No
Going Home. The recording landed her on the top of Internet
Charts such as MP3.com and Soundclick.com naming her Artist
of the Month and "No Going Home" CD of the Month and placed
her on compilation CDs such as "The Best of Women on MP3.com"
and "The Top 100 Bands of MP3.com" which was distributed throughout
the country with purchases of Sony CD-Rs.
Now Sarah has released her second CD Everything's
All Right, the title echoing her struggles and triumphs
of the two years between the CDs. Produced by her long-time
bass player Mark Zubek, an award winning jazz composer, the
album contains powerful piano based and pop infused melodies
with a rich percussion foundation by Ethan Eubanks (David Mead,
John Mayer) and deep layers of guitar and computer musings.
The songs revolve around finding hope in the darkness, whether
of lost love or of being lost in the city and display Sarah's
growth and depth as a songwriter. |
